The Willamette locomotive

A Willamette locomotive

On our way to Mt. Rainier, Washington, my friend’s family and I stopped at Elbe when we saw the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad ticket office. The steam-powered locomotive in the picture is a Willamette locomotive, the only operational Willamette that exists in this age of electric locomotive technology. After an intense discussion of whether to ride it or not, we sadly decided to skip it if we were to reach our destination in time.
