Chilly

It’s chilly today, and I recalled a freezing, windy, hectic and fun day spent at Dublin a few years ago. I’m happy it’s nowhere near as cold now as it was then. 🙂

Cee has added a nifty twist to her Fun Foto Challenge for the next few weeks – she posts a picture, and we pick items or colors from her picture to base our pictures on.

Paper earrings

Paper jewelry

Paper jewelry — vastly different from what comes to mind when I think of paper!

Yellow

Vessel

Base of a decorative vessel with a stem. I chanced upon this while roaming around the Goa Gajah temple, Bali. Just look at the patterns on it!

Red

Light and Translucency
A lovely flower causes eye-catching play of light and shadow without even realizing it! 🙂 I think it’s the red that makes the effect striking.

Sighted while strolling around the Washington Park Arboretum.

Negative stairs

Stairs
Negatives are fascinating. They can be creepy sometimes. (Negatives of faces, anyone?) But then, there are times when they can lend so much beauty to a picture. These negative stairs — I can just keep looking at them. The tiles look amazing, and the railings provide company until the stairs disappear. I clicked the original picture in the hotel that we stayed at when we visited Tossa de Mar, Spain.

Mosque-Cathedral chairs

Seating

Clicked at the Mosque-Cathedral, Cordoba, Spain. I loved the arrangement of chairs. The ceiling looked good, too, but that photograph is for another day and another post — one thing to focus on at a time! 🙂

Of course, I’ve dimmed the background to give more emphasis to the foreground. I also applied some masked zoom blur to soften the faraway furniture. Lastly, I cropped the photo wide to highlight the ‘sea of chairs’.
